The neighborhood of Wedding is a wonderful mix of cultures and has been an edgy center of low brow activity since the mid-18th century when gambling and prostitution moved in. Today there are technical schools, pharma company offices and lots and lots of Turkish food shops. My favorite bakery sells these German/Turkish “pastry horns” stuffed with a cinnamon-scented baked apple mixture and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Truly a lovely simple expression of cultural integration.
